Putre – Chungara Lake – Putre
Day 1: Putre/Lauca National Park/Lake Chungará/Putre
Departure from the town of Putre, towards the Lauca National Park, where we can distinguish and appreciate the flora and fauna in their natural habitat, we will trek in The Caves area, an archaeological site of the first inhabitants. We continue through the Mirador de Chucuyo, admiring the panoramic beauty of the Payachatas Volcanoes, the Bofedal de Parinacota stands out, scene of a great variety of birds and camelids, in the vicinity is the Town of Parinacota, of pre-Columbian origin and its beautiful Church declared a national monument dating from the seventeenth century. We contemplate an incredible view of the turquoise waters that make up the Cotacotani Lagoons, then we will trek along the shores of Lake Chungará (4,530 meters above sea level), the highest in the world; we are captivated by its landscape surrounded by imposing snow-capped volcanoes, we finish with a relaxing bath in the Jurasi Hot Springs, return to the town of Putre.
